Tempo’s Journey to Performance
Excellence
Our goal is for Tempo to be the premier provider of residential
mechanical services for North Texas. It is an ambitious goal, but
ultimately not very different than what every other company would
want communicated to their customers.
What is different about Tempo is our commitment and effort towards
achieving that goal. Our Partners have adopted The Malcolm Baldridge
National Quality Award as a model of how to put together people
and processes to provide great performance. This is an extremely
rigorous process and is a never-ending journey. We have focused
our improvement efforts through the state level Texas Award for
Performance Excellence competition, which is based on the Baldridge
Model.
Tempo was a finalist for the year 2000 State of Texas Baldridge
Award. We earned a site visit from 6 examiners from the
Quality Texas Foundation who spent 3 days in our business and countless
hours before and after evaluating our efforts. While we were not
selected as a recipient for the award in 2000, we did receive an
extensive feedback report highlighting what these professionals
identified as our areas for improvement. Over a half-decade later,
we continue to incorporate their suggestions into our standard improvement
methodology.
Performance excellence is a journey, not a destination. Every improvement
and every customer interaction highlights the opportunity to do
more to improve the customer and the Tempo Partner’s experience.
Our challenge is to constantly improve the process and procedures
of our work and increase our Tempo Partners' sense of empowerment.
The reward is homeowners and Partners who regularly experience
high quality results that add comfort and value to their lives. |
